SATURDAY and SUNDAY

:: Thanks for an awesome 8:30 am...I have pulled a few MANDUKA mats aside for you who have ordered...I am placing another order on Monday so if you are interested in the Black Pro which is the one I recommend HIGHLY (it will help with wrist strength and take you to a whole new world), I have had mine for 8 years, let me know. I sell them for $85...The equa Manduka towels are the best out there and I sell those well...let me know whatever you need. I am ambassador to Manduka and with them for a year...and I feel so blessed with the amount of support and belief they have in me and in my method. ::

:: SUNDAY SIGN IN 2.28 please email me if you haven't already for early sign in tomorrow Feb. 28 at tgardneryoga@gmail.com I would love to use the front studio because it gets hotter however we will be in the back if I have more than 35 people on early sign in...I will post by 9 am which studio we will be in. PLEASE try to get in the habit of early sign in if you aren't already...It really helps Heidi get you in the room faster and eliminates the line at the door... Also for classes where we have an option of studios it helps me get the heat going.

:: MY FAVORITE WAY TO GET A GOOD SWEAT!!!! If you love to sweat and detoxify in class like me you can sweat even more if you take a hot shower before class, yes before as well...I shower 4 times a day because what the shower does before is open your pores and heat the muscles up...so when you start to sweat in class it just intensifies it. I know it is hard for some of you coming from work etc. but if you do get the opportunity too, shower before and after class...it is the best detox. I also after class love to soak in lavender epsom salts, aahhh, it really is the best thing to do if your muscles are sore and fatigued...just stay in the bath or at least 20 minutes and drink lots of water. Last thing water is the best thing you can do for yourself and I am starting effective today to drink about 90 ounces for the amount I sweat...It flushes the extra toxins out of your body and helps the muscles from becoming dehydrated which I get too often...My class is like an intense massage, every muscle is worked and because of that we need to drink lots of water before and after...you can drink it during class as well just don't over drink in class because it can make you nauseous. Ok enough for today, a little work, a little shopping and some sushi and drinks with Craig for dinner:-)

and a day off, thank you, patience and new rules for me!!!

First WOW I want to thank all of you for 2 awesome, intense, sweaty classes Wednesday....Seriously all of you are blowing me away with your strength and endurance and now patience:0) The word of mouth has always been great about my classes but I really am humbled by what is going on...I mean I never thought I would be stressing out about not being able to fit into a studio. Last night we had 48 people in the front studio...I guess it was 7:10 and someone told me they were the 23 person line...Class starts at 7:30pm. wow, and the early sign in has been really helpful for Heidi (I really don't know how she did it last night) We do it because it will get everyone in the room faster, so please email me tgardneryoga@gmail.com and make the subject class, send your name and which day or days you will be attending. I probably won't be able to get back with all of you but I forward the list to Heidi and she will let you know where u are in your package, if you need a new one etc. Please bring cash or check only and checks make payable to Tracey Gardner.  Space issues can be resolved for the weekend because we will be in the back studio both Saturday and Sunday and we can fit lots in that studio. There is parking in the back and front of the building and entrances both in front and back. I want to thank you all for the great support and being patient while we work through the growing pains. Again, the adrenaline before, during and after class is so intense and amazing that I am very thankful for this! I love reinventing and because I have great assistants I am able to constantly reinvent. As a friend said this week, "class is never easy but the first one and maybe up to five is just really working into the class, taking breaks and listening to your body. Tracey Gardner Method™ is a very high intensity workout that everyone can do but PATIENCE is key. You will get stronger in every class and realize some days you might be stronger than others. My mission and why I created my own method is because I want everyone (whether you have worked out or not) to crave coming to class and make that one hour, which is very precious in todays society, the best hour you will have in your day! Working out for me is a physical and mental challenge and I even have days that are harder than others. But the energy you all bring to my class and love for my classes is what drives me and inspires me daily! So keep spreading the word and I promise there is so much great stuff ahead!  I am only checking emails twice a day and Facebook twice a day because I seem to get stuck on my computer for hours...Something has to give and as soon as I check an email, it then might lead me to Facebook, which then leads me to lululemon which can then lead me to American Apparel and then I go to i tunes, blah, blah blah...and basically I have not spent time on me, my kids, laundry and the many other things I do during the day so with that said I am "unconnecting" for the day and will see you on the mat! Thanks again  for inspiring me daily!

Not sure where my FACEBOOK fan page is???? Unconnecting for a day or two!

Not sure where my fan page is hmmmm. keeps saying my profile is unavailable and will be available shortly, we will see...probably a good thing because I am going to become disconnected from the my laptop, blackberry and the phone for the rest of today, tomorrow and Thursday. I need a few days to breathe and get organized in my "real life" so if you email me and I don't get back to you that is why.  Classes are WED 9:30 am and 7:30 pm and I have some u down who signed up early! Rest assured if you get to class about 10 min early you will be good. We are in the front studio Wed and Fri and now in the back Saturday and Sunday I will be peaking at my emails only about an hour before class so if u need a mat, towel, etc we will bring it. Send an email to sign in too tgardneryoga@gmail.com I am forwarding those to Heidi! See you Wednesday! and subscribe to my blog, link is to the right. You will get all the details for everything about me and class! Have a great Tuesday.

I confuse myself sometimes:) Tonight

Really, I do confuse myself, so you are not alone if you are thinking hmm this whole sign in thing is confusing because "she had a sign in form on her blog the other day, it's gone" "I used to email her" "Ummm do I facebook her on her friend page or fan page" Let me explain,  I always have good intentions, it sometimes just takes me a little longer since I tend to like to do everything myself...HOWEVER Heidi will figure something out and I will listen to her. She has kept me so organized these last few weeks and now knows most of you, so checking in has really all come together:) I still confuse her and Craig for that matter and yeah my sister Marci too. I guess I am all over the place and never finish my sentences. Why? because my brain is creative and as soon as a thought pops in about something I must talk about the new thought. They are understanding and know I really can not delegate. I feel bad to tell someone to do something, I am getting better at that though too, I hope. Anyway the reason why we are doing early check in is because Heidi can have a list at the door and if you are on the list you get in ASAP...classes are soooo busy that the last thing I want everyone to do is stress out about getting a spot and yes it does happen, nights we have no choice but to be in the studio we are in. It is the biggest one at that time. So basically email me tgardneryoga@gmail.com if you are coming to class MON 7:30 pm, and or Wednesday night 7:30 pm. Gina, my other assistant is a quick one and thought it would be a good idea to leave all the spots by the door open for the people who get to class a few minutes late. I am staying in the middle of class bc I feel so much more connected with all of you. So my point is , if you are coming to class, please send me a quick email, or post it on my facebook fan page www.facebook.com/thetraceygardnermethod also come 10 minutes before class! ok thanks and hopefully we are on the same page:) See you tonight!!!!

::: SUNDAY Feb 21 :::

Thanks everyone for emailing me about class to make everyone's internal stress level not go through the roof we will be in the large back studio. 37 people have already signed in early and yesterday the back studio was hotter than it has ever been. If you want to be melting hot come towards the center and front, if you want be hot, just stay to the sides and in the back...so bring it on and we can pack 70 in if we need too:) see u soon!

WOW, 2 AWESOME Sweat Fests on Wed, we need more space!!!

Ok well thanks to all of you for making last night's class run smoothly. I had a suggestion that I love and we are going to do it effective ASAP. We have a list for early sign ins, we have to have you on the list during night classes especially and weekends due to lack of space. What we are going to do is have all of you who come in early (and I know we all our very territorial and like spots which is fine) but we are going to move in closest to the opposite side of the room, AND DO 5 ROWS INSTEAD of 4 that way so those running late can come in and have a space by the door. This will help with distractions, somethings we can not control and I know so many of you drive from all over the city to get to class. There is traffic, babysitter issues, etc. If you are on the list at the door u will get a spot, those who are not pre-registered will have to wait outside the studio....I just don't know what else to do. we had 45 people last night and average class is 30 plus (thanks to all of you who keep reminding me this is a good problem to have) Today I will be adding an early sign in form to my blog and we will test it out...thanks for being patient and thanks for the word of mouth. I don't advertise so the word of mouth is amazing! WE DO HAVE CHILDCARE on FRIDAYS only at 9:30 am anyway I really am so thankful to all of you and love feedback, questions and more. I am having a difficult time responding to all of the emails, but am trying my best! I am also adding "THE KEY is..." section to my blog. This will be helpful to those for your first 5 classes. Thanks again! I sooooo love what I get to do everyday:-) Oh and with the weather the way it is please don't worry about the 90 day expiration right now. I am not enforcing it bc of all the snow storms etc. Once we get better weather we will reinforce.

WELCOME TO WEDNESDAY MADNESS.....

Wow, I can not thank you enough for all of the early sign ins via my facebook page www.facebook.com/thetraceygardnermethod or email tgardneryoga@gmail.com !!! Wednesdays are crazy so be prepared...We can not enter the studio until about 7:20 pm and there is a ballet class before us that finishes at 7:15. It is always a mad rush to put our mats down and to get all of the well needed props :) set up...so the best thing you can do is get there before 7:30 pm. That is the other thing I don't like rules but if I know you are going to be running a few minutes late that is fine but I can no longer have you guys come in 10 minutes or more late to class and squeeze in somewhere. 10 min into class we are really warm and it is distracting. It is also unfair to all who do get there in enough time and then have to shift around to make room...The last month and a half an average night class has consisted of 35 to 50 plus people...I LOVE IT and want everyone to experience my classes, but please be respectful to others around you and coming in 10 min late is not good. whew ok if you know me, I don't do well wuth delegating and all I want is for everyone to be happy, but I really must stick by that policy in respect to all of my clients:) On another note, it does take at least 5 classes or more to get my technique, and I am the biggest believer in going at your own pace and  most importantly MODIFY, MODIFY...drop those knees as you practice your scoops, take breaks. It is a very enduring and fatiguing class. Even for me, so please stay hydrated and remember it takes time to build endurance and strength but no matter what, it will always be challenging. You can make it as hard as u want or take it down but please listen to your body. You will see dramatic results mentally and physically with 2 to 3 classes per week.  Also if you don't like to be overly hot, head towards the back...the first 2 rows are HOT HOT HOT!!! See you soon!!!

Correction 7:30 PM tonight....ON!!!

oops...I misposted earlier and said 7:30 am AND meant 7:30 pm...thanks for early sign ins and if you haven't please email me tgardneryoga@gmail.com Heidi and I will be there to check u in!!! See you tonight!

The roads are great...aaahhhh I need Wed classes BADDDDD

See you at either 9:30 am and or 7:30 am today!!!! email me if you haven't and we will put u on early sign in tgardneryoga@gmail.com especially for tonight! Get ready to sweat!!!!

This was it, now I am done!

The cold, too much snow, way too much sugary stuff, barely any water and no class for me 2 days in a row= SERIOUS MELTDOWN! Oh and add in Craig working from home. I haven't had an alone day since last Wednesday. My routine is off just like all of you, and no matter how much more snow we get blah blah blah, class is on for Wed both 9:30 am and 7:30 pm! Yes it will be an intense class and stress reliever, so I am giving a heads up now...and remember no pressure you can modify. Those of you who have been with me over the years, know if I take a break (vacation) which I don't do lately, or one day off, I will have the most intense make up class because I get excited to get back on that mat. I really don't know what will happen until we start at the top of our mats except that I want to crush myself  and detox all the sugar and stress lurking through my hips, back and neck. I get in a lot of pain when I take a few days off...I get a headache and feel exhausted. I am done and I will hold both classes...so no matter what snow storm hits us overnight, we are having class and 2 new playlists just in case you decide to do a double with me tomorrow.
See you on the mat please email me if you are coming to either class at tgardneryoga@gmail.com

Out of Whack, too much buttercream

I am bummed because my body is off big time from not doing my 9:30 am or 7:30 pm today and I fell off the candy/buttercream frosting wagon. I have realized candy is crack for me and I am completely back on my CANDY CLEANSE Tuesday!!!  I have a great hubby who knows how much I adore buttercream frosting and not just any buttercream frosting but my favorite from Cheryl & Co which he brought me not 1 but 4 Cheryl & Co. yellow cupcakes with that darn buttercreamfrosting. It was very sweet of him.... but I am not good with temptation and not only did he bring cupcakes, but he brought me the insanely addictive cut out cookies (a dozen), lots of brownies (that don't do anything for me) and a tub, yes a TUB of my other crack, the buttercream frosting...so after 10 days of being "clean" I was in slow motion opening the cupcakes and inhaled two of them because it was like a drug, my eye starting twitching and teeth were tickling. I was on this endorphin rush. It was crazy. I felt so disappointed in myself because I was clean for 10 days. 10 days clean Everyone can fall of the wagon, right???it was just buttercream frosting. Well to continue my "eating junk" weekend, I had a couple martini's Saturday night at the Children's Body Image Foundation fundraiser. I couldn't stop there and was craving salt so what do Craig and I do? go to taco bell where I ate 2 hard and 2 soft tacos...omg you would think that would be enough but no I had to then get a large vanilla shake at McDonalds. So if you think you eat unhealthy, this should make you feel better. I couldn't even detox today because (A) it was Presidents Day, so I took this am off to be with my boys but was planning on an insane 7:30 pm class tonight.  Noooooooo, that was ruined because we got the worst winter storm this winter. Everything closed early because the roads were a nightmare today.  I AM DONE no more junk or sugary things...(oh I forgot to mention the I feel sorry for myself box of Gobstoppers) I had at noon today. So a major makeup session will be happening Wednesday at both 9:30 am and 7:30 pm...I am detoxing and will need a crazy, sweaty 2 classes. I have so many of you signed up for Wed and if you plan coming click on my email here and let me know if you are coming tgardneryoga@gmail.com No pressure though:) Drive safe and stay warm!

NEW UPDATE!!!! NO CLASS TONIGHT 7:30 pm !!! Better safe than sorry!

Ok I am just as bummed I love Mon nights, actually all classes I love but the roads are awful and so is the parking lot and its not worth it to me to hold class in this mess. I guess everything happens for a reason because as the day goes on my headache gets worse.....So get ready for some major MAKE UP sessions this week, see you Wed at 9:30 am and 7:30 pm...check back for early sign ins! Stay warm and drive safe.
Namaste'

***UPDATE check back in an hour or so, the roads are horrible****

I am so sick of this weather! One storm, two ok but three I AM ANNOYED! I am hoping that the snow chills out soon but to be honest with you the roads are bad ( just came home from Polaris area) and it took us over an hour and a half! So I will post in about an hour or so what the call is. Drive safe

NO CLASS MONDAY @ 9:30 am ONLY :: WE ARE ON FOR 7:30 pm

REMINDER there IS NO MONDAY FEB 15 am 9:30 am class....
And, thanks, as always, for feedback. Tracey Gardner Method™ is based around feedback, any kind and the tiniest things are important me.  My email has been hard to find on my blog for early check in... I will be having an early sign in area on my blog effective later tonight. That way it will be easy for you to send me an email if you are coming or not to a certain class. It will always be in the same spot. The reason it is so helpful is that it helps Heidi get you into the studio much quicker.  Making space for everyone...We are trying to do 5 rows of 10 to 12 people so we can fit in class, and it is a unanimous decision that the front studio is all of our fave because it gets the hottest. If you want to be unbearably hot come up front... first and second row...if you like it warm but don't need to be "sauna like" go to the back couple...everyone has a preference. The best part of my classes are who is in them.  Not only do we have people who never worked out, but I have many that do marathons, lift and enduring crossfit sessions. I have been told for the last few weeks by many people just joining our classes on how nice everyone is. It is so true, everyone is amazing in all of my classes...there is such positive energy circulating the room that everyone wants to come back. It drives me to instruct every day, so THANK YOU!!! The other cool thing is that everyone is modifying when needed...so important!!! Yes I am kicking up the endurance building, but there is never any pressure to compete and everyone who comes gets it. Yes I get very excited to see you all progress, it really keeps me going. I never ever thought I would be doing a one armed wheel (backbend) and coming out of it with only one hand on the ground...don't forget I used to smoke 2 packs a day (well now about 12 years ago). I am much older than many of you think which always makes me smile...I will be 37 in 2 weeks and I have never felt stronger and in better shape in my entire life. I get questions, emails all the time asking me what else I do cardio? weights? NOTHING just my class 7 times a week with 2 full days off. It has ridiculously changed my body...I haven't touched a weight or machine in about 2 years, just using my own body resistance and that is why I have to share this photo Feb 4..."One light Workshop" with Zack Arias.  This one  from Frank Tuttle www.tuttleimages.com

Thanks for the support there or not:-) at the lululemon fashion show

I was so excited when I was asked to be in the lululemon fashion show sponsored by Columbus Fitcique. but when it came to walking on that stage when Andrea Cambern said my name I froze, well I just smiled:)  We were supposed to strike a pose, I thought walk pose and get off 30 sec, it seemed like I was up there for 10 minutes. Standing, looking doing nothing just smiling...not what I planned but then again when I plan it never works out! That is how I created my method...I have had so many wonderful inspiring emails this week and questions on how I created this workout?..."addiction, place of happiness" It wasn't planned EVER...I did not like yoga, it wasn't for me, it wasn't intense, upbeat, enduring, just about flexibility which I am not. I also didn't like attention drawn to me and everytime I did a "yoga" class somewhere I was called out if I wasn't doing it the text book way or I was adjusted by an instructor who didn't even know me and would stack my hips that physically couldn't be stacked...So that is why Tracey Gardner Yoga is now Tracey Gardner Method™...I felt I was being untrue to the "yoga" community by using "yoga" in my name... and untrue to me.  When I hear "yoga" I think breathing, stretching, being able to touch my toes. Right? My classes are not that at all. In fact everything we do is spun off of a yoga pose and has become my own reinvention. I like to sweat and feel like I just had the best workout ever. I want to see results and not bulk up. I want a great playlist. I want to not get hurt and not be pushed/adjusted into things that I loathe. I don't want attention drawn to me. So everyday when I come into class I am just like you, I want to love working out. That is why I created my own method. The class sizes are bigger by the day and the strangest thing for me is that I didn't do this for anything but my passion to have a workout for me to love and share with everyone. So thanks to all of you for making my passion a reality.
My classes are not just classes with people who are numbers, my classes are about so much more than practicing on a mat for an hour. They are really about an escape to a place where you can kick it up or turn it down, no judgement, just great people, positive energy, being yourself and having fun.  No fitness or "yoga" experience required! Thanks for finding me and spreading the word, the energy is amazing!!!!!

SUNDAY CLASS 11 am and lululemon MINI TRUNK SHOW AT 10 am

Good thing I canceled this am, I would have never made it out of my driveway...it was nice to catch up on sleep for a change, my body was craving it...so  Superbowl Sunday February 6 we decided to have a last minute to have a lululemon trunk show...Lauren and Cara, from lululemon will bring the store to us...I have had so many of you interested in lulu but just can't make it down to the showroom, so what we are planning on is a once a month mini trunk show. CREDIT CARDS ONLY too. We will be in the front studio too, i know we will be tight because Sundays have been crazy, but for me there is such a difference with heat and humidity. So we can probably fit 55 and I am starting an early sign in  for Sunday at tgardneryoga@gmail.com I have you down if you emailed me and if we have to be mat to mat then we will. Don't forget about the lululemon fashion show as well sponsored by Columbus Fitclique THIS THURSDAY FEB 11 at 7 pm. You can purchase your tickets in my classes, cash or check made payable to Columbus Fitclique $30 for a single ticket and $50 for a pair... Drive safe! Also Manduka mats and towels are on the way...I should have them in hand by Wed at the latest! See you Sunday.

:: Decision made and would rather be safe than sorry :: No Sat 8:30

I want my Saturday 8:30 am class as much as all of you but due to the weather and my neuroticism over heat.... the weather is going to cause some issues and so is the parking lot at the Ballet. They say the weather is going to get worse and since most of you come from all over the city...
*****class is canceled Saturday at 8:30 am*****
We will have class Sunday at 11 am and before class say around 10 am a mini lululemon trunk show. No pressure to buy anything but there will be lots for sale... so many of you have wanted to either get to the showroom in Short North and can't get down there so as a treat we are bringing it here. Credit cards only....if you are requesting anything specific, let me know via email tgardneryoga@gmail.com ....so again no class, rest, relax and refresh for a sweaty Sunday at 11 am CLASS and lululemon at 10 am :::: email if you are coming to class if you haven't already! Stay warm!

Let it snow!!! Class at 8:30 am???

Right now this is just an update for class tomorrow at 8:30 am...I have had lots of emails wondering whether we will have class because of the weather...I have not made a decision yet..Check back later tonight and I will post. I rent space from New Albany Ballet so I DO NOT follow their snow policy. Stay tuned:)

Whattttttt?????

Well thanks so much to all of you for your belief in me and my method and classes...I am still in denial that this is real and feel this is just a dream I will be waking up too. I created my method for me and all of you, I took a huge risk because I stood what I believed in and its so inspirational and humbling to me that classes are packed, and the results are dramatic mentally and physically. In the last week the average class combined was 45 people! Yes, I like to do it all and that means meeting everyone and putting your name with your face. I say it all the me but I do have a photographic memory especially with faces and names, and thats why it is so important for me to check i with all of you. I wish I had more time with everyone in class. Connecting with everyone is my absolute favorite part and sharing my story, it was along journey that no one believed in except my husband, Craig and he really believed in my method. You might see me scowl at him in class and that is because he is blessed with organization and number skills and am not. I thrive on chaos and last minute craziness.  When it comes to the end of the day I couldn't and wouldn't be where I am without his true belief in me and support...I am so greatly touched by the amount of emails I get daily and am so grateful for the word of mouth...I love feedback and even negative and know when not to play one of my favorite  songs by Prodigy.. Claustrophobic Sting...Since we are filling up in classes please email me for early sign in if you can tgardneryoga@gmail.com it really was helpful tonight having 25 of you pre signed in...We are also going to have mini lululemon trunk show before class this Sunday...details tomorrow. I am also excited to be walking in the lululemon fashion show next week February 11 amongst some celebrity athletes and a portion of the proceeds go to such an amazing cause. I will also have details about the Children's Body Image Foundation, I am now on the advisory board so details on this great charity coming soon and stay tuned for lots of photos. I am a subject in this amazing photographer's national workshop tomorrow. He will be in Columbus and I can't wait to share more. I will be shooting most of the day tomorrow so if I don't get back with you that is why. YES we do have childcare for class this Friday at 9:30 am all emails and early sign ins please send to tgardneryoga@gmail.com It has been another long day, exciting and full but it started at 4 am! thanks to all of you who support me, there is lots to come.
Namaste'

So a few things Wednesday Feb 3 and glad everyone likes it:)

Tonight is usually madness with getting into the studio at 7:20 for a busy 7:30 pm class...there is usually a line that fills the lobby at the ballet company along with me and all of my stuff. Bags and bags with me...not sure why I have so many bags because after writing my list of what I need to have for class, I shouldn't have so much stuff and then the extra stuff I get lost in...hmmm... So what happens is I usually can't find anything in any of the 5 bags I have with me and I wasted a lot of time getting them ready, bringing them to class and loading them back up after class. SO TONIGHT  I have my one folder, yes one, with everything it. I am putting the music on first, which is what I always used to do way before class started and now that classes are insane and we have such little time it always seems to be the last thing I do which is not a good idea...I usually (a.) have problems with the stereo or (b.) finding something that I need so I end shuffling through one of my many bags.We had Heidi the last 2 weeks sign everyone in and she did great but I felt disconnected with everyone so I am back.  As a lot of you know, my classes are way more than just a "class" for me. Be sure to bring your mat, towels and water and I will have your mat and towel if you sent me an email to buy. More Manduka mats and towels will be ordered tomorrow so please email if you want to purchase.
:: Also, if you want tickets for the Columbus Fitclique lululemon fashion show, you can purchase them in my class cash or check only made payable to Columbus Fitclique.  Email me if you are coming tonight, I have started an early sign in tgardneryoga@gmail.com and yes I love feedback too!

WE ARE FULL TONIGHT WEDNESDAY 7:45 pm :: Only sign in if you are definitely coming to class! Thanks.

What is Tracey Gardner Method? and what are classes like?

Tracey Gardner Method™ is a fusion of
heat, endurance and strength building all concentrated around your core...Tracey Gardner Method is not Pilates, not traditional yoga, actually we follow some poses from yoga but they are changed up with my own spin...everything in class has been created by me and reinvented by me because my joints used to hurt when lifting and practicing yoga, not my muscles. I wanted to see results and have muscle fatigue. I created this for people who want a challenge, yet who have patience building endurance, also for weight loss and to get dramatic results. Life is busy, we only have an hour to sweat and this is how I want to sweat. We don't chant, I don't speak in Sanskrit "yogi language" We practice on floors which makes a huge difference, and we have heat and humidity. No one has been trained by me to teach the official Tracey Gardner Method, so if they tell you they have they aren't telling the truth. I am going to be a holding a certification workshop in May or June 2010. Check back for all details.
My method is for everyone however it might take you at least 5 classes or so to get comfortable with the flow and really let go...You will get wiped out, ummm yes, I do too, so do drink lots of water. Please bring a mat (if needed I sell MANDUKA only because they will take you to the other side of strength) a towel/towels ( I sell the MANDUKA equa towels as well).
BRING WATER YOU WILL NEED IT!!!!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

FIRST CLASS...what to expect

:: Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign in, waiver, etc.
:: Bring towels yes more than 1 and water...If you have a mat please bring as well, we have a few to loan if you forget.
:: It is a very intense and enduring class BUT we have every fitness level...it takes about 5 classes to get the flow of my method and know it is best to modify and take breaks...you will get so much more out of it.
:: Please, once class begins, do not talk as it is very distracting to others.
:: Stay hydrated before, during and after class.
:: Please be patient as we are working through major growth. Classes are busy (nights and weekends especially) but we have the nicest people in class and every fitness level.

FIRST CLASS EXPECTATIONS

Intensity, endurance building and lots and lots of breaks. The heat and humidity can make you nauseous at first, good news it is a new building with great ventilation and air filters. I f you do get nauseous please rest on your mat lay, sit or leave the room, please do not distract the other 35 plus in the zone. As someone said you need a few classes just to work into the first class which means watch and take breaks. EVERYONE in class has learned my method from me and no where else, and we all started at the same point. Think about our "HOLLOW and HOVERS" when you do these in the beginning as well as "DIVE THROUGHS" it is best to do on your knees and work on scooping, so your butt lifted and leading with your chin. To build on them you will see a "HOLLOW and HOVER" is rplling forward ands behind shoulders and elbows slightly bent so triceps will be getting the brunt. A "DIVE THROUGH" is about lifting your butt high and skimming the ground with your chin both require elbows to be glued to the rib cage. My favorite new add on is to turn your hands out a little so your elbows can jam into the rib cage as you bring it through...come to class and see what this all means! You will not get through a whole class maybe not even until your 5th or 6th try but once you get it, Tracey Gardner Method™ becomes the most addicting workout with the most intense endorphin high for hours. You will detoxify your body and work every single muscle head to toe (actually realize that u have muscles that have never been worked) Please no talking in class. It is a very enduring intense workout where EVERYONE participating or not is in the zone. See you on the mat!

Any day that I am able to go to Tracey’s class is a favorite day for me. Honestly, if I could go to every class she offered, I would. Her class is more than a work out- it is so fun and addictive- my “happy place”!!!! What could be better than getting an awesome workout, fabulous toning, burning tons of calories, and sweating like crazy- all with no shoes on? On my way home from her class, I am already planning the next time I can go. The music is great, the heat is great, and Tracey’s instruction, encouragement, and motivation could not be better. I love when she gives advancements so I have something to strive for. I’m really working for arms like hers- I will do as many hollow & hovers and dive thrus as it takes!!!!!

Love it love it love it! I can't even describe how great I've felt after class the past two times. You are such an amazing instructor, and i like your yoga method as well as your teaching method, like always saying AWESOME GUYS, AWESOME (i've been to workout classes before where the instructor is constantly yelling like a drill sargeant, and for me that is not effective, i appreciate your encouraging words!). I love the heat, the sweat, the friendliness of everyone in the class, the time goes by so fast!, the music, how close it is to my house, seeing how strong you and some of the other girls are, and that i now have an escape for stress! I am coming to Saturday's class and bringing a friend as well, she is really excited to try it!

I also wanted to thank and commend you on such a great method. I am a 31 year old mom of 4 great kids. My husband and I own and operate a hair salon in Powell, which is also where we live. I have become guilty of letting myself come last and lost all confidence in my ability to change my body. I have never been able to find a program or gym that kept my attention. With my husband's encouragement I have attended two of your classes (the last two Sunday's) and find myself checking your blog daily and counting the days toward next class. I just wanted to introduce myself since I will be a regular at upcoming classes, I am completely addicted:)

I was definitely one of those people who thought yoga was just a lot of breathing and stretching, but after a nagging knee injury forced me to cut back on running I began to look for something else to help me stay in shape. A friend asked me if I wanted to go with her to one of Tracey’s classes and even though I was skeptical I thought “why not?” I could not believe how tough it was! I left the class drenched in sweat and totally hooked. Over the last 11 months I have seen such a difference in my body, my stomach is flatter, my arms are more toned, and my balance and flexibility have really improved. The best part and what I have a hard time putting into words is the sense of accomplishment I feel after every class. I am so proud of myself when I am able to hold a pose I wasn’t able to just the week before. I like the fact that each class is a little different but always challenging and the music is awesome! Tracey gives different options with each move so you can really tailor the class to your abilities. Tracey is so encouraging and positive; she really made me feel comfortable even though I was totally new to her class. It’s obvious she loves what she does and I really cannot thank her enough for what her classes have done for me.

I must say that Tracey and her yoga class have changed my life! Having two babies(2 years and 7 months) makes working out a tough task to fit into an already busy schedule. Working out five days a week simply isn't an option. I take Tracey's class twice a week and am getting results I never achieved in a gym where I used to spend almost 2 hours 5 days a week. After 2 months in Tracey's class I shed all of my pregnancy weight plus some, trimmed inches off my entire body, and sculpted my arms, legs and stomach area. The change isn't only on the outside. I have so much more energy from day to day and feel renewed from the inside out! I look forward to each and every class. Not once have I thought, "I don't want to go".....it's just the opposite....I can't wait to go! Tracey does an amazing job leading the class! She thoroughly explains all the poses for beginners and takes the time to help you reach more advanced options once you are ready. There's always a new challenge for your body since you can advance your poses no matter how long you've been taking her class. Her motto is to always listen to your body! I'm hooked for life to Tracey's method of yoga and I can't thank her enough for following her passion and making such an amazing class available to us all!

Tracey Gardner Method is unlike any exercise I have ever done. In a matter of weeks my body has been transformed like never before. I'm stronger and leaner than I've ever been. I no longer need to work out with weights since the class focuses on strength, core and endurance building. As a runner I have found that my runs are easier and faster and therefore more enjoyable. In a word this class is "Phenomenal."

Almost two yearsago I was diagnosed as having an underactive thyroid. I had gone to the doctor several times because I was steadily gaining weight despite eating a low calorie diet and running 3-5 miles a day, 5 days a week. I was frustrated to say the very least. Since then I have tried several different ways to lose weight including going to a personal trainer and although I grew stronger, I still could not lose weight no matter what I did. I started talking to some people at work and they suggested that I try power yoga and I was given Tracey’s name. I decided to try a class and I was instantly hooked! Not only do I rely on this class to help me de-stress and stay healthy but it’s the first time I have felt and seen weight loss results in years! I have cut about 15 lbs since I started in September of 2009 and that is with going an average of twice a week. This class has truly been like a miracle in my life and I cannot say enough good things about Tracey and the format in which she instructs. Go to this class if you need to find a new way to relax, build strength or to lose weight. Tracey will never make you chant and she will never single you out in front of the class, unless it’s to give you a compliment. Plus I share her taste in music and she has only helped me add to my collection. How can you say no to that?

Tracey Gardner Method is the absolute best workout experience! Before I tried one of Tracey's classes, I remember being really nervous...I was fairly new to working out in general and had heard that her yoga was not the typical "relaxation" type yoga, but a really hardcore strength workout. I also heard that she heats the room to a high level and I was nervous that I might pass out! Well, now I am 100% addicted to the Tracey Gardner Method (I go on Wednesday nights and call it my "mid-week treat."); the things I was nervous about are the things I love most about this class!

Here are my top reasons why:

10 - Wednesday nights are the best! The main lights are off and strings of white lights are on. I love Tracy's music playlists...anything from Coldplay to Dave Matthews Band to Madonna! Although I love the music, it's mellow so it helps me to think more about the yoga movements.

9 - Class is always packed; which I love because everyone is doing their own thing and going along at their own pace. You can follow along with Tracey, modify, and take breaks when you need to.

8 - Every class is different! Just when you think you know what to expect, Tracy changes it up and adds a new challenges.

7 - Tracey's method will work you to the core, but when you leave class, you will feel so relaxed and cleansed. I've always slept well, but on Wednesday nights after her class, I have the best sleep of my life!

6 - The heat helps you sweat like crazy and helps to really work each and every muscle! The breathing methods used in Tracey's class are phenomenal. Think about it, how often do we truly think about our breathing? With each breath, your stamina builds!

5 - With each class your endurance and strength will build. Tracey's core movements not only build muscle, they build your confidence as you get stronger and stronger! It is amazing how you are just using your body to build all of this strength and lean muscle! 4 - You will be sore, for a few days, in a good way! A friend once told me that "if you aren't sore, you aren't working hard enough."

3 - Tracey Gardner Method isn't like any other workout, so you can never get bored! I've heard from other participants who go to Tracy's classes a few times a week and they've been doing that for over a year...they've shared that they never get bored! And you should see how toned they are! You'll shed weight, lose inches, and most importantly, build strength in body and mind!

2 - Tracey encourages participants to "modify" or she gives those ready an "extra" challenge. Although I am still doing many things the modified way, it is so rewarding to build on that strength every single week you can improve and it is such a celebration! Tracey is quick to give you an "awesome job" compliment to keep you motivated!

1 - Inspiration! Tracey is a true inspiration! She makes every participant, no matter what their ability is, feel good about attending her class and always takes time to show you how to do something. Her passion, strength, body, and attitude make you want to attend class again and again. You will be inspired, strong, lean, and confident.

:: FAQs ::

::What if I haven't done yoga in awhile or in the past?::
No worries, my method is different, you will have to retrain yourself so come in with an opened mind and be ready to sweat.

:: I'm nervous everyone will watch me?::
That's the cool thing, no one is focussed on anything but themselves, we just breathe, do what we can and take a break whenever we need one.

::What do I need to bring to class?::
A mat, towel and water...if it is your first time I have a couple loaner mats because I recommend Manduka Black Mats. I sell them and I am a national ambassador for Manduka and I stand by their mats and towels and everything else 110%

:: What do I wear to class?::
I suggest layering up in the morning and peeling off since it is getting cold out and you will sweat a lot...my favorite clothes which will not move from your body are lululemon they are so worth every penny and there is a showroom in Columbus, 841 North High St. and I am now an official ambassador for the m as well!

:: How long is my 10 class pack good for?::
Packages expire within 90 days from purchase.

:: Are the lights on at night?
Nope, all dark with string lights around room, I don't like working out with bright lights.

:: How do I sign up?::

::Seriously New Albany, so far?::
My client base is 50% New Albany and now 50% from all over Columbus from Pickerington, Dublin, Hilliard, German Village, Upper Arlington, Powell, Short North, EVERYWHERE. It's all highway.
DIRECTIONS to the studio
If you take 270 then jump onto 161 New Albany (East) take it until you see Johnstown Rd. Exit Johnstown, hang left and go to second light then make a right on Smiths Mill Rd, hang first right on Forest Dr. 5051 Forest Dr. (New Albany Ballet Company)

:: Why are classes so packed?::
Well I am very humbled by all of the love and support and for me it is so much more than just a class. I have pretty much been through everything (depression, starving myself), tried everything (partied crazy, smoked 2 packs of cigs a day), loathed the gym (scared of bulking up and many injuries), never saw results and get bored quick...I love connecting with each and everyone of my clients and truly guarantee my method helps emotionally and physically, every fitness level, male and female. It's not a job to me. It is my passion and I wish had more one one on time with everyone.

::Why does it take 5 classes to get the flow?::
It is a mind and body challenge and the technique of method gets sacrificed a little in the beginning but that is ok, if you are patient and give it a few classes I guarantee you it will become an addiction. There is a difference between hover and hollow™ and dive throughs™ that were specifically created by me to start your endurance building. My method specifically starts at the same point for every single person who walks through the door. It is up to you and your modifications to take you to the next level.

This is updated frequently so check back in:)

MY STORY....."Quench the unconventional?" I did...Why I created Tracey Gardner Method™

:: Tracey Gardner Method™ also known as Tracey Gardner Yoga :: My creation of HOT, CORE, ENDURANCE, STRENGTH AND BODY RESISTANCE TRAINING based from power y0ga....I stepped away from "yoga" because when I was saying I taught yoga, people would say "i love to stretch" "I need to relax" and if you came to my class we don't relax at all!
Not many of you know but I have been through it all or done it all...I was a 2 pack a day smoker, huge partier, and was addicted to pain pills...I know it's hard to believe and that is why it is so important for me to share my story with you. I NEVER WORKED OUT until my husband, then boyfriend at 20 years old (I am now 36 going on 37) made me run 1/4 mile...It was painful and I couldn't breathe...I gradually started walking, then running, and going to the gym...I finally quit smoking 4 years later (which was the hardest thing I ever did) because of a bad bout of bronchitis...I was so sick of spending hours at the gym, never liking it, never getting the results I wanted or ended bulking up which is the least thing I wanted was to "bulk up"...I wasn't after the "body builder body" I wanted to get lean and long and defined...so I spent years learning, creating and realizing that weights weren't for me...I got bored with machines and was injured a lot from running (I had week ankles) I suffered 4 broken ankles including one with my first pregnancy...I "tried" to train for 4 marathons and every time I would get half way there, I was getting an MRI or a CT Scan because of a break, tendonitis, you name it, I had it....I wanted a strong core and I wanted most importantly to enjoy my workout not dread it...so my goal was to get results, challenge myself, build endurance and strength, look forward to it, get the endorphin rush from running since I wasn't able to run and SWEAT like crazy...I got into yoga about 10 plus years ago and have practiced every kind out there, and there are lots...I have built my specific method/technique upon power vinyasa (breath and movement) yoga...I want to stress...this is not like any other yoga class and that is why it is the official Tracey Gardner Method™ I change poses up from down dog to plank where you are using your core (hollowing)...my method stems from the core and most importantly endurance building...it is about building gradually because you will get so much more out of my classes if you drop your knees and try to build slowly...it will not happen overnight but if you consistently do my class 2 to 3 times a week, gradually build your strength and endurance you will shed inches and get results physically and mentally. I don't believe in the scale because you will gain lean muscle but lose inches... I love music so you will hear lots and loud...
we don't chant, relax, speak in sanskrit, or "OM"...it is about you and you craving to sweat and workout...you will sweat and burn hundreds and hundreds of calories in just one hour. There is no pressure and if you haven't done a yoga class PERFECT...you will not have to retrain yourself since my method is different...My classes are for all levels and I give advancements and modifications...I stress, it is nowhere near relaxing and it is very unconventional, so be prepared to work (at your own pace) Please bring a mat a large and small towel and water. I do sell Manduka Black Pro Mats which are the best mats out there and will help your practice, and I sell the Manduka large and small towels as well. I get a lot of questions on my arms and they are results from my method only, no weights or machines. I used to practice 14 times a week before I cranked the heat but I only do 7 because the heat cleanses and detoxifies you inside and out. The results are insane and so many of my clients inspire me and keep my passion alive.

You won't hear Sanskrit in one of Tracey Gardner's yoga classes. Really, you won't find anything traditional about her eponymous method, which combines strength training, breathing exercises and rock music. In addition to a rented studio in New Albany, the high-energy instructor will open a second location in March at Short North Fitness in the Jackson on High.

•••

In high school, I didn't really have the best grades. I got into Ohio State. It was a good thing. My mom wanted me to experience being out of Youngstown. That was a good push.

At Ohio State, I went crazy. I partied, drank, did everything. I was on probation my first quarter. I started smoking when I was 19 - two packs a day, eight cigarettes with my coffee in the morning. I never in a thousand years thought I would be doing this.

My boyfriend got me started working out. He gave me my first run, which I couldn't even survive. Over the years, I got into lifting weights. I got a personal trainer. I trained for marathons. I was injured a lot, which was really frustrating. I kept getting tendonitis. I broke my ankle, broke my foot.

I tried yoga everywhere, but it was kind of boring to me. It didn't click at all. I literally had a severe panic attack in one class, because there was no music and they were talking in Sanskrit. I called my husband. I couldn't breathe.

I started experimenting. I did yoga workshops. I started instructing a little here and there. When I was at Lifetime Fitness and had a class of 65, it all clicked. I've been on my own for a year now.

With the Tracey Gardner Method, I wanted to make everything different. I've taken everything from strength training to endurance running. I kind of put it all into this. I've helped strengthen my feet, for instance, by building poses around these issues I've had.

I believe that every crisis in my life has presented a unique opportunity. Every setback I've had, I've learned so much from it. At the time it sucks, but it's made me so much stronger.

Three things I can't live without are my iPod, my BlackBerry and Smashbox under-eye concealer. I didn't wear it one day, and I looked like I was dead.

In my spare time, I like to write and do social media. I have two kids, ages seven and 10. I love fashion. I'm a big music fan.

Every single class is created around music. I never go into class knowing what I'm going to do. I wing it from pose to pose or every flow because it goes by the reaction of my body. My favorites are Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails. I love Madonna. I'm really into these new indie bands, too.

My ultimate goal is to have Tracey Gardner Method studios around the country. And to be on the Ellen show.

One thing in my life I regret not doing is traveling more.
